'A Yucky, Rainy Day'
Joe wants to fly his rockets to the sky with his mum and dad but it is raining and wet and yuck!

Literacy

I used magnetic letters to make my sentence.  I then, wrote it in my book using lowercase and uppercase letters correctly.

Get moving!!

This is what a break between lessons in our class look like.
We have found the awesome website www.gonoodle.com which has a range of physical activities and brain exercises that help keep us engaged, fit and having fun!   This video was taken at our second attempt of this dance :)

Our Trip to the Botanic Gardens

Our class was lucky enough to go and explore the trees and plants at the  beautiful Botanic Gardens.   We made a tree puzzle in the classroom and participated in an activity to represent the different parts of a tree.  We then, went out to explore the different types of trees and used magnifying glasses to see deeper into the trees to which we saw bugs and spiders!!!

A special thank you to our helpers, Alofa, Kim (Armani's mum) and Hinemoa (Ikicia's mum) for making our day extra special!!!  Here are some photos that sum up our awesome day:

Numeracy

We are learning to share our strategies for problem solving in our class.  Here are some pictures to show how we've been getting on:

6 is the biggest number, so we did 5 'frog jumps' to get to 11

We circled the number 11 and counted 5 more on our fingers to get 16.

We counted 6 more onto 4 by using 'frog jumps' to get 10.

11 is the biggest number so we have counted on 5 more using our fingers to get 16.

11 is the biggest number so we have counted on (9 more) to get 20!

We have drawn a picture, 5 squares plus 3 squares and counted each one to get 8!
