Some facts we have learnt about Pukekos:
- The pukeko bird is deep blue/violet, black and white under it's tail.
- It can grow between 38 to 50cm in length.
- The pukeko's diet is largely vegetarian with meat (worms) covering a small portion.
- When disturbed the pukeko will try to hide instead of fly!!
