Blackout Day

On Friday, we had a Blackout day in support of the All Blacks.  We LOVED dressing up!!
Mrs Williams painted our faces and added Silver ferns and flags on our cheeks.  We also, had a photo of the whole school dressed in Black, it was amazing!

Congratulations to the Mighty All Blacks who are winners of the Rugby world Cup 2015!

Fiafia night

What an amazing night for our tamariki.  They have worked so hard practising the lyrics and moves to our song, Roimata!
We had a great time and were so proud to perform in front of our whanau and friends.  A massive thank you to the talented Alofa who made our outfits and supported us through our performance.
Also, our beautiful parents who helped us practise at home and dressed us on the night... We really hope you enjoyed it!

Athletics

We were both excited and nervous to participate in Athletics, however we tried our very best and ran the fastest our legs would allow....

We even got some placings!!

For the Year 2 girls - Amais got 1st place and Tausiva got 2nd place.
For the Year 2 boys - Armani got 1st place

CONGRATULATIONS! So proud of you all!

Tuakana-teina

Tuakana/teina refers to the relationship between an older (tuakana) person and a younger (teina) person and is specific to teaching and learning.

This week Room 10 (tuakana) has helped Room 19 (teina) gain new knowledge and learn new skills.

Today, we had the challenge of coming up with a healthy snack/drink for our Hauora topic this term.  Room 10 made fruit kebabs for our class and we made Banana and Berry smoothies for them.  We shared our healthy snacks after Lunchtime and it was delicious!  The generous Room 10 also read stories to us in the sunshine, thank you for all your help this week Room 10, you're awesome!

On Monday, Kiara and Lilly's Dad (Graham) came in and taught Room 10 how to make a 'knot man' which the girls had made for our Toy Topic...
Once Room 10 had a session on learning how to make one, they then passed on their knowledge and taught Room 19 the skill of making a 'knot man'.  Room 19 truly enjoyed the experience of learning from the Seniors and were so grateful to have had this opportunity.

Motuhake Show

On, Friday, we had the pleasure of watching this very entertaining show.  The kids and teachers were just captivated.  Nicole and Armani from our class were the lucky children that had the opportunity to be part of the show and they did a wonderful job with their awesome dance moves!!
